Meet Up Groups are one of the most popular ways that people can develop groups with people (who live in the same area) who share similar interests or perspectives. It may be as simple as "Who wants to go bowling on Saturday night?" to groups that provide validation and support, e.g. divorce groups, groups for Asian Americans, groups that discuss adventure travel, single parents). Contains ratings of the groups, and the opportunity for people to define and develop their own group.
The Meatloaf Project is a thoughtfully-crafted campaign to inspire teams of support, love and encouragement throughout our immediate communities and around the globe where they are presently lacking or nonexistent.A small team is assembled for a 6-week period. Each member declares his or her goals and pledges to support other team members in achieving their goals. The support might be hands-on or it might be providing accountability. The results produced with the support of a team are astounding! No more hoping, failing, avoiding. TheMeetloaf Project is about achievement, success, satisfaction. Above all it reminds us all that human beings can be amazingly courageous and generous. Knowing the greatness of mankind can alter one’s experience of life.
As for the connection to being single: I personally have had to become resourceful. I don't have a partner to share my concerns, make sure I come home at night, discuss my dreams, care for me when I'm sick, exercise with me. With Meetloaf, I have found people to come with me to the vet when my dog was dying and I could barely hear the doctors through my tears; I have found someone to call when I wanted to pig out all day on junk food despite my commitment to being healthy; I have found purpose by helping others and being needed. What a gift to a single person!
